Maersk Sealand revives U.S./Central America loop
Maersk Sealand said Sunday it will relaunch the weekly U.S./Central America Fashion Express (FEX) service to replace the North Central American (NCA) service, which had called at New Orleans and has been suspended.
The FEX service will call on the same ports as the NCA service with the exception of New Orleans. Instead the FEX service will call at Port Everglades.
The 698-TEU vessel “Maersk Ensenada” will start the FEX service when it departs Puerto Cortes Sept. 16. The full rotation will be Port Everglades, Santo Tomas de Castilla, Puerto Cortes and back to Port Everglades.
The FEX service was replaced in June by the weekly South Atlantic Express service.
