USDA’s deputy undersecretary for foreign agricultural services resigns
Jim Butler resigned on Tuesday as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s deputy undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services.
When Butler joined the USDA four years ago, he served as deputy undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs.
According to the USDA, Butler will become deputy director general of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, based in San Jose, Costa Rica. The institute promotes the development of science-based sanitary and phytosanitary standards and biotechnology regulations for the agriculture and food sectors.
