AMAC Logistics using MacroPoint with Aljex TMS

The Chandler, Ari.-based freight broker and exclusive agents’ use of MacroPoint allows third party access to load status, avoiding the need to hire additional staff.

The Chandler, Ari.-based freight broker AMAC Logistics has begun using freight tracking software from MacroPoint integrated into its transportation management system from the software provider Aljex.
The integration between MacroPoint and its partner Aljex is intended to benefit mutual customers of the two companies by providing a way to access load location information. MacroPoint’s solution gives third party visibility into load status by tracking the location of a driver’s mobile phone.
AMAC said the use of MacroPoint saved the company from hiring an additional employee.
“One of the main reasons we chose Aljex was its integration with MacroPoint,” said Doug Hazen of AMAC Logistics. “The integration updates our TMS with GPS locations as well as provides a map with a breadcrumb trail. We liked the fact that the driver has to accept MacroPoint only once as opposed to every transaction. We utilize many carriers and their drivers on a recurring basis, so once a driver has accepted MacroPoint all future moves can be tracked with a click of a button. We also have our largest carrier accepting MacroPoint on their on-board (electronic logging devices). That carrier handles loads for our largest customer at the current time and for them we just plug in the truck number and it tracks automatically.”
AMAC Logistics specializes in logistics programs that require high-tech, high-touch customer service components to support heavy haul, truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal and refrigerated services throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“The ability to track a load from pick up to delivery is a benefit and a service we can sell,” said Mike Roberts of Logix Transport Solutions, a Memphis-based exclusive agent for AMAC Logistics.
Currently, the company is tracking about 200 loads per quarter with MacroPoint after enabling the integrated solution in March of 2015.
