MENZIES AVIATION GROUP TO CEASE KOREA OPERATIONS
Menzies Aviation Group said it will close its ramp handling and passenger business at Incheon International Airport in Korea in March, due to lack of access to cargo facilities.
MAG currently provides ramp service to Federal Express and passenger services to Northwest Airlines.
The company launched its business in Korea when all international traffic transferred to the newly built Incheon International Airport in March 2001.
'Our operation has been hampered by the lack of access to cargo facilities needed to provide a comprehensive handling service,' said Peter Smith, chief executive officer of MAG. 'We have been unable to generate the critical mass of business necessary to justify our continued investment in Korea at this time.'
