Lufthansa Cargo, Swiss WorldCargo join forces in Canada
Preceding Deutsche Lufthansa’s takeover of Swiss International Air Lines, Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo will conduct joint local business operations in Canada.
Effective Jan. 1, Swiss WorldCargo will assume additional responsibility for Lufthansa Cargo’s sales and distribution operations in Montreal, while Lufthansa Cargo will take charge of Swiss WorldCargo’s Toronto operations.
“This arrangement will enable both our companies to substantially strengthen their market positions,” said J'rgen Siebenrock, Lufthansa Cargo’s vice president sales Americas. “Both our Montreal and our Toronto team will be able to offer the combined capacities of both our carriers via all three Lufthansa Group hubs — Zurich, Frankfurt and Munich. At the same time, both companies will also derive substantial further benefits from their excellent and growing partnership with Air Canada.”
