USDA SEEKS INDUSTRY COMMENTS ON SETTING INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking comments from the industry on new international trade standards to be considered at several upcoming animal and plant health meetings.
The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service publishes notices of international organizations whose activities are related to international standards and U.S. trade policy, such as the International Plant Protection Convention and North America Plant Protection Organization.
“The standards agreed upon at these meetings help determine international trade policy,” said Michael V. Dunn, USDA’s undersecretary of marketing and regulatory programs. “We want to ensure the public has a chance to voice their opinions on these issues before our representatives attend the meetings.”
