EMERY PILOTS APPROVE STRIKE
Emery Worldwide pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, have approved a strike if no settlement is reached in contract negotiations with CNF Inc. management.
Under federal law, Emery's pilots cannot call a strike until the end of a 30-day rest period declared by the National Mediation Board. No rest period has been declared in the 27-month CNF pilot negotiations.
ALPA called the strike authorization vote a sign of the Emery pilot's determination to achieve their collective-bargaining goals, which include limiting the amount of flying Emery can outsource to other airlines and pilots.
