CANADA MARITIME NAMES AGENT IN BALTIC STATES
Canada Maritime has appointed Aseco Container Services, owned by USS United Shipping Services, as its agent in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
The transatlantic shipping line, part of CP Ships, said the appointment is part of its plan to expand its agency network in Eastern Europe. The carrier has operated under a long-term relationship with Aseco, and has been represented by the agent in Scandinavia since being formed in 1984. Canada Maritime also names Aseco as its agent in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Canada Maritime's shipments to and from the Baltic States, as well as other parts of Eastern Europe, are transshipped over Hamburg, which is served by a fixed-day weekly sailing of the carrier's three-loop Northern Service. Canada Maritime also operates a two-loop Mediterranean service that offers weekly sailings from Montreal to ports throughout the Mediterranean and Portugal.
