The port of Tianjin in northern China saw container volumes climb 13.9 percent in 2011 to a record 11.5 million TEUs, according to reports in China.
Tianjin is the nearest port to China’s capital, Beijing. The port reportedly saw intermodal volume rise 15 percent in 2011, compared to 2010, and added 13 new services during the year.
