UPS releases new trade management software
UPS, the Atlanta-based provider of package delivery and supply chain services, said it offers a new Web-based trade management application to handle customs clearance for package shipments.
UPS TradeAbility allows international shippers to identify specific country tariff codes to calculate the duties necessary for customs clearance.
At the same time, Quantum View Manage, an existing UPS package visibility service, has been upgraded to help U.S. importers clear shipments unto the country, as well as to audit cleared shipments for correct classification.
UPS TradeAbility is available on www.UPS.com, or can be integrated into a customer's business applications. It is the first UPS service to be made available via Web services technology, UPS said in a statement.
