Commentary: ISC sails back to its roots

International Shipholding Corp. (ISC) — the parent company of several shipping companies including Central Gulf Lines, Waterman, United Ocean Services and CG Railway — said it will return its headquarters to New Orleans.
After Hurricane Katrina, ISC relocated its corporate headquarters to Mobile, Ala.
In New Orleans, ISC will create 100 new jobs at a 45,000- to 50,000-square-foot headquarters facility in the city’s Warehouse District, where the company has property under contract. Renovation of the building is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2015, when ISC will begin formal operation of its headquarters in New Orleans.
