CANADA/NORTH EUROPE CARRIERS RAISE RATES
The Canada/northern Europe conference carriers have announced increases in eastbound and westbound rates for April.
The carriers plans to raise westbound rates by $320 (U.S.) per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-footer.
The westbound rate increases of the northern Europe/Canada carriers will be effective on April 1, the same date as the Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement’s rate increases of $240 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-footer, announced last Friday.
Eastbound, the Canadian transatlantic conferences also plan to raise rates on April 1. The increases will be $120 per 20-foot box, $180 per 40-foot dry container and $300 per 40-foot reefer container.
The eastbound price increases for the Canada/Europe trade compare with TACA’s just announced eastbound rate rises of $120 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-footer, also effective April 1.
The members of the Canada/northern Europe conferences are Atlantic Container Line, Canada Maritime, Cast, Hapag-Lloyd and Orient Overseas Container Line.
