MAGAW RECUPERATING AFTER ANGIOPLASTY

Under Secretary of Transportation for Security John W. Magaw was released Tuesday from a Washington hospital after undergoing an angioplasty procedure.

Magaw, 66, who heads the Transportation Security Administration, was admitted Monday night to George Washington University Hospital after experiencing discomfort, possibly due to an existing stent from a previous angioplasty.

He is expected to return to work next week.

Magaw is a former director of the Secret Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and was acting director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
