USDA TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON ANIMAL DISEASE IMPACT
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will hold a public meeting Sept. 28 seeking comments and suggestions the economic impact of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, bovine spongiform enchephalopathy, or other diseases.
The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking input to aid in the development of a report required by the Animal Disease Risk Assessment, Prevention and Control Act of 2001.
Interested persons can send written comments to APHIS or deliver the comments at the meeting, to be held from 9 a.m. to noon at 4700 River Road, Riverdale, Md.
