Con-Way nixes health care surcharge idea
Con-Way Transportation Services said it is withdrawing a proposed 2 percent surcharge to cover health care insurance costs less than two weeks after the less-than-truckload carrier announced the fee.
The insurance surcharge was scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1.
The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company said surcharge was aborted after customers said they preferred the company pass on its costs in the form of a general rate increase.
