UPS RECEIVES FIRST MD-11 FREIGHTER
United Parcel Service took delivery of its first converted MD-11 freighter this week in Louisville, Ky.
The freighter was converted by Boeing and Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd. (ST Aero), the aerospace arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd.
UPS said the MD-11 will become the primary aircraft on its international trunk routes. The delivery is the first of 13 that Boeing will acquire and convert from passenger to freight configuration for UPS. The deal includes options for 22 additional MD-11s.
