DFDS introduces daily shuttle between Italy, England

The European shipping and transport company launched a daily rail freight shuttle between Italy and Rotterdam and Zeebrugge as part of a comprehensive multimodal link between England and Italy.

   DFDS launched a daily rail shuttle last week between Italy and Rotterdam and Zeebrugge as part of a comprehensive multimodal link between England and Italy, the company said.
   The European shipping and transport company provides freight transport for goods that are loaded into containers, trailers or swap bodies in both full and part loads.
   In England, freight is transported by road to the Port of Felixstowe or Killingholme. The freight is then shipped to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge where its put on a train to northern Italy in Novara and Piacenza. Distribution to customers in Italy is operated by DFDS.
   “There is increasing demand for environmentally friendly transport, daily departures and better turnaround times,” DFDS Route Manager responsible for the England-Italy connection Thierry Versluis said. “With this new connection, we offer a flexible service and can respond better to demand from our clients.”
