Delta starts New York/Chennai flights
Delta Air Lines started Monday daily flights between New York and Chennai International Airport in southern India
The service uses a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft and made its maiden voyage when it departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport at 6.10 p.m. Monday, arriving in Chennai, via Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, Tuesday at 12.45 a.m.
“India represents a strategic and growing market for the U.S. and Delta and is part of our international expansion plans,” said Paulette Corbin, Delta’s senior vice president, in-flight service.
The United States and India formally signed an open skies agreement last month.
