Qatar Airways Cargo adds new freighter destination

The cargo division of Qatar Airways announced it will add Djibouti to its freighter network Aug. 1.

   Qatar Airways Cargo will add Djibouti to its freighter network Aug. 1 to satisfy the rising airfreight demand from customers in the Middle East, South Asia and Europe into East Africa, the airline said in a statement.
   The weekly service will utilize the A330F aircraft.
   The airline will be able to properly transport fresh food and perishable goods into Djibouti as a result of its QR Fresh service, an airfreight service designed to facilitate the transportation of perishable goods, along with its state-of-the-art cargo handling and storage facilities.
   Djibouti will become the seventh dedicated African freighter destination in Qatar Airways Cargo’s network, which already includes Lagos, Nigeria; Accra, Ghana; Johannesburg, South Africa; Entebbe, Uganda; Nairobi, Kenya; and Khartoum, Sudan.
   Qatar Airways Cargo operates from its hub at the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar and is equipped with a fleet of six A330Fs and eight B777Fs.
