North American Airlines to end Hawaii flights
North American Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Air Holdings Inc., said Monday it is ending flights between Oakland and Hawaii, effective Sept. 1.
North American has offered two Oakland/Honolulu flights per week and three Oakland/Kahului, Maui flights each week.
“World Air Holdings conducted an extensive evaluation of the Oakland/Hawaii scheduled service after North American was acquired in April 2005, and we have determined that it is in the best interest of the business to allocate the aircraft and crews for charter service, including the U.S. military,” said Rob Binns, World Air’s senior vice president for marketing and planning.
