MAERSK SEALAND MERGES NEW PACIFIC, ASIA/MIDDLE EAST LINKS
Maersk Sealand’s resumed TP5 transpacific service, which started eastbound on Dec. 31, incorporates the carrier’s former Far East/Middle East service.
The combined weekly service has a rotation of Jebel Ali, Colombo, Tanjung Pelepas, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Yantian, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo and Jebel Ali.
The first westbound sailing of the TP5 Asia/U.S. West Coast service is scheduled on Jan. 14 from Los Angeles.
The transpacific service adds about 4,000 TEUs in weekly capacity to the trade. Maersk Sealand had suspended the TP5 service last fall.
