Econocaribe starts LCL service from India to Charleston
Non-vessel-operating common carrier Econocaribe Consolidators will start a weekly less-than-containerload service to Charleston, S.C., from Mumbai and Chennai, India.
Econocaribe’s previous service to the U.S. Southeast from these Indian ports was to New York and Miami.
“With the increasing connection of the textile industry in the U.S. Southeast with India, we believe that this new LCL service will provide importers in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina with a transit time of at least one week less than similar LCL services over New York,” said Spencer Strader, Econocaribe’s imports director.
Econocaribe is considering a direct all-water LCL service to Charleston from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Shanghai.
