ZUMWINKEL SAYS HEÆS STAYING PUT AT DEUTSCHE POST
Ending what a spokesman called “speculation circulating over the weekend,” Klaus Zumwinkel, chairman of the board of management of Deutsche Post World Net, said Monday he would remain in his position at Deutsche Post.
In a letter to employees, Zumwinkel said, “in the past few days there has been considerable speculation that I would become chairman of Deutsche Telekom’s board of management. Many in our group are now concerned and have contacted me.
“To clarify matters once and for all, let me succinctly state I am remaining in my position as chairman” of Deutsche Post, Zumwinkel said.
Zumwinkel cited “10 exciting years of postal history” in which “we have mastered vast challenges together. I am thinking specifically of the reunification (of Germany) … in the coming years, we will be an internationally strong and sound company … guaranteeing 380,000 jobs.”
