Tacoma box traffic up 3%
The port of Tacoma handled 1.8 million TEUs in 2004, 3 percent more than the 1.74 million TEUs handled in 2003.
Total value of foreign trade at the port was $29 billion up from $26.3 billion in 2003, the former record year.
The port said it expects to pass the 2-million-TEU barrier in 2005.
