CHO STEPS DOWN AS PRESIDENT OF HANJIN
Sooho Cho has stepped down as president of Hanjin Shipping, the largest Korean shipping company, after six years in the top executive position of the group.
In a short statement, Hanjin Shipping said that Chan-gil Kim has been appointed to the position of president, but did not comment on Cho’s departure nor mention his name.
During his six years as president of the company, Cho oversaw the expansion of Hanjin Shipping, the development of the United Alliance of Hanjin, Cho Yang, DSR-Senator and United Arab Shipping Co. and the takeover of DSR-Senator.
Kim, Cho’s successor, was previously a financial officer at Hanjin Shipping.
Hanjin said that Kim will be responsible for profit center management of Hanjin Shipping’s trade, as well as the pricing of services throughout the company.
Kim has worked for Hanjin Shipping for 12 years and previously served for Korean Air, a sister company of Hanjin Shipping, for 21 years.
