Kerry boosts capacity at Laem Chabang terminal
China-based Kerry Logistics said Wednesday it has expanded its handling capacity at its terminal at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand.
The company recently took delivery of a third gantry crane at the terminal, allowing it to go from 65 container moves per hour to 85.
Kerry also said its road transport subsidiary, Kerry Asia Road Transport (KART), aims to increase its Thailand/Vietnam cross border business by 33 percent in 2010 (the company didn't specify what volumes it already moves).
KART's major customer for door-to-door service is a leading beverage cans producer in Bangkok, which transports products 880 kilometers to Lao Bao, Vietnam, using the a road corridor through Laos.
