FMC revokes license for Medrano Express

The Federal Maritime Commission said that on July 25 it revoked the ocean transportation intermediary license of Transporte Medrano, Inc., doing business as Medrano Express.
“Medrano Express is no longer authorized to provide ocean transportation services. Consumers and businesses should not tender cargo to Medrano Express or its agents for the international shipment of goods,” the FMC said. The toll-free telephone number on the company’s website is not in service.
The FMC said it “is receiving complaints that consumers are unable to reach Medrano Express or locate their goods.”
It suggested shippers contact its Office of Consumer Affairs and Dispute
Resolution Services. It said if cargo has not been delivered or recovered, a claim can be placed with the surety company Roanoke Trade Services, Inc.
