HYUNDAI UPGRADES INTERNET FUNCTIONALITIES
Hyundai Merchant Marine, the Korean shipping line, has upgraded the online functionalities it provides via the internet.
The carrier has added freight rate request and booking functions to its Web site at www.hmm21.com.
When a customer inputs departure and arrival points into the carrier’s online customer service center, and requests cargo transportation, a company specialist will inform the prospective customer of freight charges as the first step towards an online transaction. Customers can make their direct internet reservations once the freight rate has been established, Hyundai said.
The carrier’s Web site allows shippers to check vessel schedules, negotiate freight rates, make a reservation, view bills of lading, see vessel locations, receive arrival notices and track cargo.
Customers will be also able to utilize the internet to check cargo locations or read B/Ls without visiting Hyundai Merchant Marine sites or going through extra procedures, the carrier said.
