U.S., Canada conduct joint maritime patrols
U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are riding in each other’s boats as part of a two-week pilot program to enhance joint maritime patrols on the St. Clair River and surrounding waterways in the Detroit/Windsor area.
The exercise is being used as a model to expand joint operations on the St. Lawrence Seaway and in the Great Lakes to respond to security or criminal threats.
