MITSUI O.S.K. LINES APPOINTS KODAMA DIRECTOR
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has appointed Yukiharu Kodama, a former Administrative Vice-Minister of International Trade and Industry for the Japanese government, as an outside director.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said that it is undergoing a major management restructuring, with the primary goals of giving the board of directors a more active role in the company and introducing an executive officer assignment plan.
Last year, the company appointed another two outside directors: Takeo Shiina, senior advisor to IBM Japan, Ltd.; and Toshihiko Fukui, senior advisor and former senior deputy governor of the Bank of Japan.
Kodama’s appointment as a director of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines is subject to approval by the company’s annual shareholders meeting on June 27.
