EVERGREEN LAUNCHES SECOND 6,332-TEU SHIP
Evergreen Line has launched the “Ever Envoy,” the second of five new 6,332-TEU post-panamax containerships.
The Taiwanese carrier said that the delivery of the new “E-type”vessels will enable it to continue upgrading its principal east-west services and phase out older and less efficient ships.
“While we are facing a difficult and uncertain future at present, Evergreen is confident of the medium to long term future,” said Evergreen group chairman Y. F. Chang. “Ships are not built solely for today’s market; they are built to trade for 20 years or more,” he added.
