U.S. CUSTOMS ISSUES TEMPORARY RULE FOR STEEL IMPORT DUTIES
U.S. Customs, through a temporary rule, will defer collecting duties imposed on certain steel imports until April 19.
The new steel quotas became effective by presidential proclamation on March 5.
“The purpose of the deferral of duty is to facilitate consultation between the United States and its foreign trading partners concerning the president’s determination in accordance with Article 12.3 of the World Trade Organization Agreement on Safeguards,” Customs said.
