TNT, FedEx add routes to European cities
International express companies TNT Express and FedEx Express said they'll expand air cargo service in Europe.
TNT Express said it has added daily 737 freighter service from its European hub in Liege, Belgium to Turku, Finland, located in the western part of the country. TNT previously served that market by truck from Helsinki. The direct service will improve delivery times for imports by more than two hours and give exporters an extra two hours to meet drop off deadlines, TNT said.
FedEx Express announced a new direct flight to Greece as trade with United States, Asia and many parts of Europe increases. FedEx will deploy an Airbus A310 200 to Athens International Airport four times per week from Frankfurt, Germany, and once a week from Paris, reducing transit times to Greece by a full day, FedEx said.
