SCHENKER EXPANDS SHIP PARTS DISTRIBUTION SERVICE
Schenker has expanded its ship parts distribution service in the Scandinvanian market.
The Essen, Germany-based freight forwarder opened regional support centers for ship parts distribution in Copenhagen to cover Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, and Tallinn to cover Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
Schenker has also introduced a new ship parts service purchase order management system, which allows shippers to outsource their purchase order management to Schenker.
“We are convinced that our new network structure will lend support to the network branches in the regions, more importantly, to meet the demands of the customers, in terms of our global presence and local competence, in line with current potential of the market,” said Peter Gunzelmann, global product manager for Schenker’s marine parts service.
