ATLAS AIR TO EXPAND AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Atlas Air, the Purchase, N.Y.-based company that charters 747 freighters, crews, maintenance and insurance for airlines, will spend $37 million to expand its operations at Miami International Airport.

The project, scheduled for completion in 2002, will include a new widebody aircraft maintenance hanger.

Atlas will receive nearly $4.3 million in tax rebates from the state of Florida and Miami-Dade County for the project, which is expected to add 400 new jobs over the next three years.
