UPS chief marketing and business services officer retires, while Norfolk Southern executive vice president and chief financial officer retires, and POLB names new chief harbor engineer and director of program management.
Teresa Finley, chief marketing and business services officer at UPS Inc., is retiring from her post after 34 years with the company. During her time at UPS, Finley held positions in the parcel carrier and third-party provider’s international, small package, freight forwarding and logistics businesses, as well as heading UPS Capital Corp., a business unit that offers insurance and trade finance products.
In addition, UPS has appointed Juan Perez chief information and engineering officer. Perez, who has served as chief information officer since March 2016, will now be responsible for leading the company’s newly unified engineering and IT departments. Mark Wallace will continue to lead the company’s global engineering and sustainability division as a member of the executive management committee, reporting to Perez.
Norfolk Southern Corp. (NS) Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Marta R. Stewart will retire, effective Aug. 1, 2017. Stewart joined the company as an accountant in 1983, serving in various finance roles, including vice president accounting and controller, and vice president finance and treasurer, before being named EVP and CFO in 2013.
NS has initiated a comprehensive search to identify the company’s next chief financial officer and will consider both internal and external candidates.
The Port of Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has named two harbor department engineering leaders as chief harbor engineer and director of program management, both effective April 29, 2017.
Current Director of Construction Management Suzanne Plezia has been promoted to senior director of the engineering bureau’s program delivery group and chief harbor engineer.
And Tom Baldwin, who has been serving as assistant director of program management, has been named director of program management, responsible for overseeing the port’s capital improvement program.
