C.H. ROBINSON SEES 32% JUMP IN THIRD-QUARTER INCOME
C.H. Robinson, the Minneapolis-based motor carrier and logistics company, reported third quarter net income of $18.5 million, up 31.5 percent from the year-earlier period.
Revenue for the quarter ending Sept. 30 was $107.2 million, up 42.9 percent from the third quarter of 1999. Operating income rose 35.9 percent to $30.2 million.
“This was a solid quarter for us, even as certain segments of the economy appear to be slowing,” said D.R. “Sid” Verdoorn, chairman and chief executive officer. “Our transportation results were strong in all modes. Surface-based North America continues to be our core competency, but we are particularly pleased about increasing success in our international air and ocean business.”
