United’s July cargo volumes flat
United Airlines reported a 0.3 percent drop in cargo volume for July at 160.1 million system cargo ton-miles, compared to 160.6 million system cargo ton-miles in the same month 2005.
The decrease was a result of a 40.2 percent decline in mail shipments to 15.2 million cargo ton-miles. United’s freight improved 7.2 percent to 144.9 million cargo ton-miles.
For the year to date, United’s system cargo ton-miles are up 3.9 percent to 1.20 billion, from 1.15 billion after seven months last year.
