OMI ACQUIRES NEW TANKER
OMI Corp. has acquired A 35,000-deadweight-ton product/chemical tanker, which is under construction at Daedong Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in South Korea.
The tanker, which OMI acquired from another shipowner, will be delivered in September, when it will commence an 18-month time charter.
OMI, which has 25 vessels in its fleet, also has two 66,000-dwt Suezmaxes and nine product carriers scheduled on order, for delivery by the first half of 2003.
