Europe/India lines switch Med hub call
The “EPIC” joint service of Contship Containerlines, Lykes Lines, CMA CGM, MacAndrews, P&O Nedlloyd, Ellerman and Hapag-Lloyd will switch an eastbound Mediterranean call from the hub of Malta to the neighboring Italian hub of Cagliari.
The service operates in the trade connecting North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.
Contship said the change has already been made on the westbound service, and will come into effect eastbound in the middle of June.
The service, which uses seven ships of about 3,700-TEUs, will have a revised rotation of Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp, Cagliari, Port Said, Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Port Qasim, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Port Said, Cagliari and Tilbury.
