Coast Guard, MarAd seek comment on proposed Gulf LNG terminal
The U.S. Coast Guard and Maritime Administration are seeking comment on the proposed development of a deepwater liquefied natural gas terminal in the Gulf of Mexico.
If approved, El Paso Energy Bridge Gulf of Mexico will construct a LNG terminal 106 miles south of the Louisiana coastline. LNG fuel will be pumped from the company’s vessel at the terminal and pipelined throughout the Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana.
The Coast Guard and MarAd have scheduled a public hearing on the proposed terminal Oct. 3 in New Orleans. Written comments may also be sent to the agencies. For more information, contact Mark Prescott at (202) 267-0225.
