P&O NEDLLOYD’S NEWEST 6,800-TEU SHIP HONORS CAPT. COOK
P&O Nedlloyd on Tuesday will name the last of its four new 6,800-TEU containerships during a ceremony at the Southampton Container Terminal.
Anne Jones, wife of David Jones, managing director of Next, will name the ship “P&O Nedlloyd Cook,” after James Cook, the 18th-century British explorer.
The new 299-meter vessel, which has a service speed of 24.5 knots, will sail between Europe and the Far East under the British flag.
