FREIGHTDESK FORMS ALLIANCE WITH VASTERA
FreightDesk.com, a Maryland-based online logistics software provider focused on serving forwarders, has formed an alliance with international trade and logistics concern Vastera to provide its clients trade management applications.
FreightDesk offers online access to software designed to help forwarders manage their everyday work flow, from booking shipments and managing orders to tracking and accounting.
Vastera, which recently went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange, has for several years been selling software that tracks the duties, tariffs and taxes on world trade. More recently, the company has moved into the third-party logistics management and consulting business through the acquisition of Ford Motor Co.’s international trade division.
“By combining Vastera’s duty, tax and fee calculations with our comprehensive freight costs we can provide forwarders the ability to quote a complete landed cost to their customers,” said Bruce Finland, president of FreightDesk.
