MACS ADDS WALVIS BAY TO EUROPE/AFRICA SERVICE
Hamburg-based niche operator Maritime Carrier Shipping, more commonly known as MACS, will add a call at Walvis Bay to its 14-day multi-purpose Europe-Africa service, following the dredging of the Namibian port.
The vessel “Green Cape” will make the first call at Walvis Bay and is scheduled to arrive at the port on May 28.
The service uses five vessels of between 1,200 and 1,900 TEUs, with a revised rotation of Rotterdam, Immingham, Hamburg, Le Havre, Antwerp, Lisbon, Walvis Bay, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Maputo, Richards Bay, Durban, Cape Town, Lisbon, Rotterdam, Immingham, Hamburg, Le Havre and Antwerp.
The family-owned MACS group also owns Gulf Africa Line, which operates a monthly U.S. Gulf/Africa service.
