CON-WAY AIR OFFERS GUARANTEED SERVICE
Con-Way AIR, the air-freight forwarding unit of Con-Way Transportation Services Inc., said Monday it has begun offering customers a guaranteed service.
Called Sentry Guaranteed, the service mirrors other Con-Way guaranteed delivery products. Customers' shipments are picked up and delivered to the air transporter by dedicated vehicle. Dedicated ground service also makes final delivery to consignee and provides immediate proof of delivery. In the event of service failure, customers will not have to contact the company, Con-Way AIR will issue a zero invoice.
The service uses a Web-based operating shipment-monitoring system called Sentry, which provides flexible, real-time reports on current and historical shipments.
Introduction of the guaranteed service follows the launch of its Con-Way NOW expedited service in 1996, and its Con-Way Guaranteed! less-than-truckload product in 1999.
