MERCHANT FERRIES AND NORSE IRISH FERRIES COMPLETE MERGER
Merchant Ferries and Norse Irish Ferries have completed the merger of their cross-Irish Sea roll-on/roll-off shipping activities.
The joint business, named NorseMerchant Ferries, now operates four separate services on the Irish Sea.
The company estimates that its share of the Irish Sea freight market is over 30 percent, ranking it a very close second to P&O Ferries.
The shipping line aims to increase its share to 40 percent wthin a few years.
