Delmas, which was acquired by the CMA CGM Group in 2006, will officially operate under the CMA CGM name effective March 1, 2016.
Ocean carrier Delmas, which specializes in maritime shipping to and from sub-Saharan Africa, will officially be dissolved into the CMA CGM brand effective March 1, 2016.
By unifying all of its maritime activities to and from Africa into one brand, the CMA CGM Group will be able to continue its development and provide customers with enhanced services, Delmas said.
The CMA CGM Group acquired Delmas as a subsidiary line in January 2006.
Delmas, which offers 25 direct services to and from every part of the world, has ships that stop at 48 ports of call in Africa and service 42 countries, according to the CMA CGM Group’s website.
The CMA CGM Group offers 170 shipping services and serves 400 commercial ports in over 160 countries around the world.
In addition to Delmas, CMA CGM Group’s other subsidiary shipping companies include ANL, CNC Line, U.S. Lines, MacAndrews, OPDR and Comanav.
The CMA CGM Group also recently announced plans to acquire Neptune Orient Lines, the parent company of APL, but the deal is still subject to antitrust approvals in the U.S., China and European Union, according to a joint statement from the companies.
