Maersk Logistics joins GF-X portal
Maersk Logistics, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk group, has joined the air cargo portal Global Freight Exchange (GF-X).
“Initially, Maersk Logistics will use GF-X for its key export markets, but the aim is to roll out the system across its global network,” London-based GF-X and Copenhagen-based Maersk Logistics said in a joint statement.
GF-X is used by airlines and forwarders to electronically manage their bookings and capacity allotments.
“We have first hand experience of the benefits of electronic reservations through our interaction with the ocean booking portal Inttra,” said Soren K. Brandt, managing director of Maersk Logistics. “We are now looking to achieve the same advantages for our customers with air cargo.”
