U.S. PREPARES FOR INTERNATIONAL FOOD LABELING MEETING
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Food Safety and Department of Health and Human Service’s Food and Drug Administration are sponsoring a public meeting on April 17 to provide information and receive feedback for an upcoming meeting on international food-labeling requirements.
The 28th session of the Codex Committee on Food Labeling will be held May 9-12 in Ottawa, Canada. United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization created Codex in 1962 to encourage fair international trade in food and to protect consumer health.
