SITC next in line to enter transpacific
SITC Maritime (Group) Co. Ltd., an intra-Asia container carrier based in Shanghai, said its affiliate SITC Container Lines is planning to enter the transpacific trade.
SITC president Yang Xianxiang and other officials will visit the United States within the next few days “for business research and discussion,” the company said.
“The chief purpose of this trip is for seeking agents (the) in U.S. as SITC Container Lines prepares to launch liner service to America,” SITC added.
SITC Container Lines was established in 1996 and operates nearly 30 ships in the intra-Asia market with an annual volume of 720,000 TEUs.
